According to local sources, today’s Israeli raids have caused at least 21 deaths. Among the victims, eight people were hit in Jabalia. IDF accuses Civil Defense spokesperson: “He is a Hamas agent”

Five Palestinians were killed by Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) fire near a humanitarian aid distribution site in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by the Haaretz newspaper, while other local medical sources speak of at least 21 deaths in total today due to Israeli bombing.

According to hospital sources speaking to Al Jazeera, eight of the victims were killed in Jabalia, in the north of the Palestinian enclave, during a targeted attack. Dozens were wounded in various areas of the Strip, which was once again hit by air raids and ground operations.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army has released confidential documents accusing Mahmoud Zabar Tafesh Bassal, a well-known spokesman for the Civil Defense in Gaza, of actually being an operational member of Hamas. The IDF claims that Bassal is part of the Zeitoun battalion of the Gaza City brigade and has led intelligence activities under the name “Fifth Brigade: Eye of Goliath.”

In the documents, the spokesman is described as deputy platoon commander and a key figure in propaganda against Israel. The armed forces accuse him of systematically spreading false news to the international media, attributing war crimes to the Israeli army.

On the domestic front, tensions are also running high in Jerusalem. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the arson attack on the Or Habib synagogue in the Sanhedria neighborhood, linked to former Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef. “Unacceptable scenes reminiscent of tragic periods in our history,” Netanyahu said, calling for a swift investigation to identify those responsible.

Opposition leader Yair Lapid and Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman also called for an immediate response, warning against those who seek to fuel internal tensions and divisions in the country.
