Reports cite strain from scrutiny over Andrew and Sarah’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein

Princess Beatrice considers leaving the UK after Epstein Files revelations, as renewed scrutiny over Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson’s past ties to financier Jeffrey Epstein reverberates within the York family.

The reports describe growing pressure on Beatrice, 37, and her husband, real estate entrepreneur Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 42, who are said to be weighing a move abroad with their children. The United States is indicated as a possible destination.

The fallout from the disclosures has extended beyond the former duke and duchess of York, affecting their daughters Beatrice and Eugenie. Beatrice has long maintained a public show of support for her parents, including appearances alongside her father during his time at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Her sister Eugenie’s relocation to Portugal in 2022 with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, is described as a precedent that has made the prospect of moving abroad more plausible. According to a source cited in the reports, remaining in the United Kingdom could leave the couple exposed to ongoing public scrutiny tied to the controversy surrounding Andrew and Ferguson.

The same account suggests that relocating could offer a reset for family life. The pressure comes alongside renewed attention to past decisions, including Beatrice’s reported role in encouraging her father to take part in the 2019 Newsnight interview that drew widespread criticism.

Last month, Andrew was detained for several hours at Wood Farm, on the Sandringham estate, on allegations of misconduct in public office linked to claims he shared confidential UK information with Epstein during his tenure as a trade envoy. He has denied any wrongdoing.
