Million-pound reward offered for information to help catch the thief and recover unique jewellery, including pieces belonging to influencer Shafira Huang
The victims of a £10 million jewellery heist at a villa in London’s Avenue Road have put up a £1.5 million reward for anyone who provides information to help catch the thief and recover the stolen items. The heist, which took place on 7 December, involved jewellery and luxury handbags, as well as £5,000 in cash. Some of the stolen items belong to well-known influencer Shafira Huang.
Reward for information and recovery
The owners are offering a £500,000 reward for anyone who provides information useful to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator. In addition, there is a reward of 10% of the value of the recovered jewellery, which could reach up to £1.5 million, according to the London Metropolitan Police.
Stolen items: unique and easily identifiable pieces
The stolen jewellery included valuable pieces such as two diamond butterfly rings by De Beers, pink sapphire earrings by Katherine Wang and a gold, diamond and sapphire Van Cleef necklace. The police pointed out that many of these items were unique in their design and therefore easily recognisable.
The suspect and the break-in
According to the investigation by the Metropolitan Police, the burglary allegedly took place between 5 p.m. and 5.30 p.m., when a man climbed through a window on the second floor of the mansion. The suspect was described as white, aged between 20 and 30, and wearing a dark hoodie, cargo trousers and a grey baseball cap, with his face covered. The Avenue Road area is known for housing some of the most expensive properties in London.
