Tornadoes in the US, at least 16 dead between Missouri and Kentucky
Violent tornadoes caused devastation and casualties: severe damage and many injured
At least 16 people have lost their lives in tornadoes that have struck several areas of Missouri and Kentucky in recent hours. This was reported by the American media, citing local authority sources.
The heaviest toll was recorded in Laurel County, Kentucky, where Sheriff John Root confirmed the death of nine people, as well as several seriously injured.
In Missouri, five fatalities were recorded in the St. Louis area, while two other people lost their lives in Scott County, in the south-eastern part of the state.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and coordinate rescue and assistance operations in the affected areas, where serious damage to buildings and infrastructure is reported.
