Three explosive devices were thrown at the premises of the Russian Consulate General in Marseille. Two exploded, but no injuries were reported

This morning at around 8am, three homemade explosive devices were thrown at the façade of the Russian Consulate General’s building in Marseille. The attack, which shook the surrounding area, caused no injuries, according to local police sources.

Two of the three orders exploded, partially damaging the structure and forcing the police to close the area for security reasons. Arsonists were called to the scene to defuse the third unexploded ordnance, while the police launched investigations to identify those responsible for the attack.

At the moment, no official assumptions have been made about the movement, but the incident has raised concerns on the diplomatic security front in France. The situation is being closely monitored by the local authorities, in cooperation with the security services.
