Trump Threatens Iran’s Infrastructure if Strait of Hormuz Reopening Fails
Amid escalating tensions, the United States warns of attacks on Iranian power plants, oil wells, and Kharg Island
President Donald Trump declared on Truth Social that the United States will “blow up” and “completely destroy” all Iranian power plants, oil wells, and Kharg Island unless an agreement includes the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. These statements mark the latest developments in the ongoing conflict in Iran as of Monday, March 30.
Meanwhile, Turkey reported intercepting a fourth missile, allegedly launched by Iran. The Turkish Ministry of Defense said the missile was “neutralized by NATO air and missile defense systems.”
In Spain, authorities have not only denied access to the Rota and Moron military bases but also closed national airspace to flights involved in the U.S. military operation against Iran, according to El País.
The New York Times reported that U.S. forces used a newly developed ballistic missile on the first day of the war, February 28, targeting a primary school and a gymnasium in Lamerd, in southern Iran. The attack killed at least 21 people, according to weapons experts and visual analysis cited in the report.
