The world number 1 dominates in three sets and reaches the final in Paris for the first time

Jannik Sinner writes another historic page in Italian tennis: today, Friday 6 June 2025, the world number 1 defeated Novak Djokovic in the semi-final of Roland Garros, earning a place in his first final on the red clay of Paris, where he will face Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz.

The South Tyrolean put in an authoritative performance, beating the Serb in three sets with a score of 6-4, 7-5, 7-6 (7-3). After winning the first set thanks to a break in the fifth game, Sinner kept up the pressure in the second: the decisive counterbreak at 5-5 allowed him to close out the set 7-5. The third set was hard-fought and was decided in a tie-break, where the Italian raised his level, winning 7-3.

With this victory, Sinner confirms his status as the dominant player on the circuit and now prepares to challenge Alcaraz in a final that promises to be spectacular: it will be a battle between the two rising stars of the new generation, with the Roland Garros throne at stake.
