Israel: without the removal of uranium, the war in Iran is a failure
Israeli military source warns outcome hinges on removing Iran’s enriched uranium reserves
An Israeli military source has warned that the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel could be deemed a “major failure” if Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile is not removed.
According to the source, cited by The Times of Israel, Iran still holds more than 400 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60%, a quantity considered sufficient to develop up to eleven nuclear weapons. The assessment places the nuclear issue at the center of the strategic outcome of the war launched on February 28.
Nuclear objective at the core of the conflict
The official indicated that the success of the military campaign ultimately depends on halting Iran’s nuclear progress. If ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran fail to secure an agreement to remove the uranium stockpile and stop enrichment activities, the results of the 40 days of fighting would be rendered meaningless.
“If the nuclear objective is not achieved, then everything we have done in Iran will have been a major failure,” the source said, warning that Tehran could resume advancing its nuclear program.
Diplomatic solution or renewed military action
The same source emphasized that a diplomatic outcome remains the preferred scenario. The removal of enriched uranium through negotiations would, in Israel’s view, validate the objectives pursued during the conflict.
However, the warning was explicit: should diplomacy fail, Israel may be forced to consider launching a new military operation against Iran to achieve the same objective.
