The radical right overtakes the Cdu-Csu bloc and leads the vote intentions with 25%. Support for the SPD, Greens and Left declines
The AfD is the leading party in Germany according to the latest Ipsos poll conducted six weeks after the federal elections. The far-right formation garners 25 per cent of the voting intentions, surpassing the conservative Cdu-Csu bloc by one point, standing at 24 per cent.
Slump for Spd, radical left stable
The Social Democrats of the Spd, who recently announced a coalition agreement with the Cdu-Csu, drop to 15%. Greens and Linke (Left) are tied at 11%.
The survey confirms the growth momentum of the AfD, which already emerged at the polls with record results. The possible formation of a new government coalition now appears even more complex, in a political framework marked by strong tensions between the traditional forces and the rise of the extreme right.
