No evidence of alien contact during Obama’s presidency, says Barack Obama

The former U.S. leader clarifies earlier comments about extraterrestrials after online speculation and media coverage

Former U.S. President Barack Obama has clarified remarks about extraterrestrial life after widespread reactions across social media and international news outlets. The clarification came after speculation fueled by statements he made during a podcast interview.

In follow-up comments posted on Instagram, Obama said there was no evidence of alien contact during Obama’s presidency, stressing that he never encountered proof of extraterrestrial interaction with the United States government while in office.

Obama explained that his earlier remarks were made in a light conversational tone. He added that, from a statistical perspective, the size of the universe makes the existence of life beyond Earth plausible. However, he stressed that distances between solar systems make actual visits to Earth highly unlikely.

Reiterating his stance, Obama again stated there was no evidence of alien contact during Obama’s presidency, attempting to counter misinterpretations that spread online after the interview clip circulated.

During the original interview, Obama joked that one of the first questions he wanted answered after becoming president was about the existence of aliens. He added that while the possibility of extraterrestrial life cannot be ruled out, he has never seen proof of it.

He also addressed long-standing conspiracy theories linked to Area 51, saying there is no secret underground facility storing aliens unless an enormous conspiracy exists to hide it even from the U.S. president.

Closing his clarification, Obama once more stressed there was no evidence of alien contact during Obama’s presidency, reinforcing his position that speculation should not be confused with verified
