Love at the end of the line between Trump and Musk, Elon leaves role of super adviser
Tesla and X ceo prepares to end his government tenure. Trump: “He’s done a tremendous job, but he wants to get back to business”
Elon Musk is preparing to leave his role as super-advisor to the Trump administration to refocus on his business. This was revealed by Politico, citing three sources close to the U.S. president. Musk, who heads the Department of Government Efficiency (DGE), is expected to end his special assignment between late May and early June, but will retain an informal advisory role.
Trump has praised Musk’s work, noting Doge’s contribution in identifying waste and fraud worth hundreds of billions of dollars. “Elon is an American patriot, he has done an incredible job for the country,” the president said, adding that the billionaire now wants to return to his companies.
Despite leaving the official role, Musk may continue to orbit the White House, according to administration sources, remaining a familiar face in government circles.
