Macron convenes a meeting with European leaders to discuss the situation in Ukraine and challenges to continental security
Europe is preparing to respond to the US verbal exclusion from negotiations to stop Russian aggression in Ukraine. The President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, convened an informal meeting with the heads of government of Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands and Denmark. The meeting, confirmed by Elysée Palace sources, is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday afternoon.
Macron’s aim is to initiate consultations between European leaders to discuss not only the situation in Ukraine, but also the main security issues in Europe. In addition to the heads of government, the President of the EU Commission and the Secretary General of NATO will also participate.
