The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and the Israeli army strongly deny reports of alleged deaths and injuries during the distribution of humanitarian aid
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a US organisation responsible for distributing aid in the Gaza Strip and supported by Israel, has denied reports that dozens of people were killed at one of its distribution points. In an official statement, the organisation said that ‘aid was distributed without incident’ and described reports of deaths and injuries as ‘completely false and fabricated’. In support of this, approximately 15 minutes of footage taken after dawn at the distribution point in question was released.
The Israeli army (IDF) took a similar line, branding the accusations made in the morning as fake news. In a statement, the armed forces specified that ‘no shots were fired at civilians in the area of the humanitarian aid distribution centre’ and that the news circulating in recent hours ‘does not correspond to the results of the preliminary investigation’.
The incident comes amid high tensions, with official Israeli sources continuing to contest the narratives emerging from some international and local channels. However, the dynamics of the events reported by other sources remain to be clarified, pending further independent verification.
