Israeli PM reiterates hard line against Tehran and announces war in Gaza will continue until Hamas is destroyed and hostages are freed

Netanyahu raises alarm over Iran and reiterates: ‘Never a nuclear weapon in Tehran’
Jerusalem, April 19 – Benjamin Netanyahu once again raises the tone against Iran. In a video message released today, Saturday 19 April, the Israeli Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
‘I am committed to preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. I will not give in on this and I will not back down an inch,’ he said. He added: ‘It is curious to hear criticism from those who, years ago, opposed our actions to slow down Iran’s nuclear programme. Without those measures, Iran would have the atomic bomb today’.

‘No end to the war until Hamas is destroyed’
In his message, Netanyahu also addressed an attack on those who suggest a compromise with Hamas:
‘We will not end the revival war until we have destroyed Hamas in Gaza, returned all the hostages and ensured that Gaza no longer poses a threat to Israel,’ he said, ruling out any concessions to the Islamist movement.

The PM said the military campaign in the Strip had reached a ‘critical stage’:
‘At this point, we need patience and determination to win. I believe we can get the hostages home without giving in to Hamas‘ demands’.

Netanyahu thus confirms the will of the Israeli government to continue the military offensive in Gaza and to maintain an uncompromising line on all fronts.
