Myanmar earthquake, more than 3,300 victims confirmed
The March 28 earthquake devastated the country: thousands injured, hundreds missing. UN renews appeal for humanitarian aid
The toll of the devastating earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28 continues to worsen: according to state media, the confirmed death toll has risen to 3,354, while the number of injured is at least 4,508. Authorities also report 220 missing.
The quake caused extensive damage across the country, razing buildings and infrastructure to the ground. The U.N. humanitarian aid chief has renewed his appeal to the international community to provide urgent support to the affected population in a crisis that is rapidly turning into a large-scale humanitarian emergency.
