The Brazilian president underwent surgery to reduce the risk of intracranial haemorrhage after his fall in October. Doctors reassure about his condition

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva underwent a new surgery today at the São Paulo Syrian-Lebanese hospital. The operation, performed to reduce the risk of a possible intracranial haemorrhage, ended ‘successfully’, as his doctor, Roberto Kalil, told reporters. After the operation, the president was described as ‘awake and alert’, confirming a positive course.

The consequences of the fall and Tuesday’s operation

The new surgery comes just a few days after another operation Lula underwent on Tuesday to drain a cerebral haematoma caused by a fall on 19 October at his home. This type of surgery is considered delicate but necessary to prevent further complications that could endanger the Brazilian leader’s health.

Lula’s condition after the operation

The president’s condition, despite initial concerns, seems under control. His readiness to recover and the success of the operation are encouraging signs for the continuation of treatment. However, Lula will remain under medical observation in the coming days to monitor the evolution of the situation and ensure a full recovery.
