The Turkish president accuses the Israeli prime minister of ‘fascist ideology’ and condemns the raid on Doha as a ‘challenge to international law’

Verbal attack by the Turkish president – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has launched harsh accusations against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling him ‘ideologically related to Hitler’ and claiming that ‘he will suffer the same fate’. According to Erdogan, the Israeli leadership has ‘transformed radical thinking into a murderous network built on fascist ideology’.

Condemnation of the raid on Doha – Referring to the recent Israeli air raid in Doha, Qatar, against a Hamas negotiating team, Erdogan spoke of a ‘vile attack’ and a ‘blatant challenge to international order and law’. The statements were reported by the Anadolu news agency.

International tension grows – The Turkish leader’s words risk further increasing tension between Ankara and Tel Aviv, already at an all-time low after months of verbal clashes and disagreements over Israeli military operations and negotiations for a truce in the Gaza Strip.
