The US president reduces the time given to Moscow to reach an agreement with Kiev from 50 days to just over a week

Scotland – Donald Trump is stepping up the pressure on Vladimir Putin, announcing a new ultimatum of just 10-12 days to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. During a press conference in Scotland, alongside British Labour leader Keir Starmer, Trump clearly expressed his disappointment at the lack of progress in the negotiations.

‘We see no progress,’ he said, ‘I am very disappointed in President Putin. That is why I will reduce the time I gave him, from the initial 50 days to a much shorter deadline.’

On 15 July, Trump set a 50-day deadline for an agreement between Russia and Ukraine, accompanying the warning with the threat of even tougher sanctions, including 100% customs tariffs on Russian goods. Today, with the new ultimatum, the former president intends to step up the pressure on Moscow to accept a peace agreement.
