The IDF confirms the bombing in Tehran: the building was allegedly an operational centre for the Iranian armed forces. Evacuation warnings issued before the attack
The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have confirmed that they struck the Iranian state broadcaster’s building in Tehran, accusing Iran of using the facility for military purposes under civilian cover. The attack represents a further escalation in the conflict between the two countries.
In an official statement, the IDF said the building ‘was used by the Iranian armed forces to conduct military operations, exploiting means and resources disguised as civilian activities.’
According to reports, the attack was preceded by an evacuation warning to the population in the affected area and direct calls to residents in an attempt to minimise collateral damage.
‘The attack was carried out in a targeted manner to avoid involving civilians not participating in the hostilities,’ the Israeli military said.
The action comes amid growing tensions, with military acts and cross-retaliation pushing the region towards open, large-scale conflict. Striking such a symbolic infrastructure in the heart of the Iranian capital is a high-impact move, both operationally and in terms of propaganda.
The extent of the damage and whether there are any casualties is still unclear, but according to local sources, the broadcaster had stopped broadcasting a few minutes before the attack.
