From Germany to France, demonstrations grow against the policies of Trump and his adviser Elon Musk after the announcement on tariffs and global economic instability
Hundreds of people protested today in major European cities against the economic policies of Donald Trump and his adviser Elon Musk, following the announcement on tariffs that shook global financial markets in recent days. In Berlin, the demonstration came to life in front of a Tesla showroom, with protesters holding signs calling on Americans living in Germany to join the cause and “end the chaos” generated by the U.S. president’s decisions.
In the heart of Frankfurt, the “Hands Off!” protest was organized by Democrats Abroad, the official Democratic Party organization for U.S. citizens living abroad. Participants raised criticism of Trump and Musk’s policies, expressing their disagreement with the economic and social impact of the new measures.
London and Paris: signs of growing disapproval
Also in central London, hundreds of demonstrators took part in a protest against the U.S. president, gathering in Trafalgar Square. Among the slogans, messages such as “No to Hate Maga” (the acronym for “Make America Great Again”) and “Dump Trump” could be heard. Voices of dissent echoed throughout the city, fueling debate about the influence the U.S. president and his adviser have on the global economy.
In Paris, about 200 people, mostly Americans, gathered at Place de la République. The protesters denounced Trump and Musk’s policies, drawing inspiration from core values such as the “rule of law,” “democracy and freedom.” Some sang and played the song Masters of War by Bob Dylan, a symbol of protest against war and political interference.
Protests in other European cities
The protests against Trump and Musk were not just limited to major capitals. In Lisbon, as well as in other European cities, protesters raised their voices against the influence that the Trump administration’s policies and Musk’s economic decisions are having on local communities and international balances.
