An alert was raised in the North Sea off East Yorkshire shortly before 10am local time (11am in Italy) following a collision between a US-flagged tanker and a Portuguese cargo ship. According to the British Coast Guard, a fire broke out on board the tanker Mv Stena Immaculate, resulting in the immediate intervention of helicopters and rescue teams.
