Spanish world champion riding an Aprilia suffers a violent impact during official MotoGP testing
During the first day of official MotoGP testing at the Malaysian circuit of Sepang, Spanish Aprilia world champion Jorge Martin experienced a bad day on track. In turn 2 (video frame), the Spaniard was thrown from his bike, landing hard on the asphalt. The accident forced the teams to momentarily interrupt testing to allow for prompt intervention.
Visibly sore in his left foot and right hand, Martin was immediately rescued: first he was taken to the medical centre for initial checks, and then transferred to the nearby Nilai hospital for further investigations. No further updates on his state of health are available at the moment, but the interruption of the tests testifies to the seriousness of the accident.
