Hamas returns the body of Shiri Bibas, mother of Kfir and Ariel, to the Red Cross. Police prepare to escort the convoy to Tel Aviv for official identification

Hamas recently handed over the body of Israeli hostage Shiri Bibas to the Red Cross. The woman was the mother of Kfir and Ariel Bibas, whose bodies were returned to Israel yesterday, also by Hamas. The Palestinian organisation had previously handed over a third body, whose DNA, however, did not match any of the hostages still in Gaza and was not that of Shiri.

The body recovered by the Red Cross in the Gaza Strip this evening is expected to be handed over to IDF troops at around 12:30 a.m. Israeli police are already preparing to escort a military convoy that will transport the body to the Abu Kabir forensic institute in Tel Aviv, where official identification will be carried out.

Hamas has claimed that the body belongs to Shiri Bibas, but the final identification will be confirmed by forensic examination in the coming hours.
