Several people injured in an attack near the shopping centre. One arrest. Police: “There is no longer any danger”

Moments of panic today in Tampere, southern Finland, where several people were stabbed near the Ratina shopping centre. Local media reported the incident, while authorities confirmed the arrest of a suspect.

The attack took place in a central and busy area of the city. The exact number of victims involved is not yet clear, but the Finnish police have issued a statement saying that “the situation no longer poses a danger” to the population.

The injured are receiving first aid, according to the police. The identity of the attacker has not yet been disclosed, nor has the motive for the attack, which remains under investigation.
