A man armed with a knife attacked 11 people at the Union Gospel Mission facility in Salem. The suspect has been arrested
A man armed with a knife injured eleven people at a homeless shelter in Salem, Oregon, which houses about 150 men every night. All of the injured were taken to hospital.
The suspect was taken into custody by local police, who described the incident as a ‘mass stabbing’. Neither the condition of the victims nor the identity of the attacker has been disclosed.
Authorities are analysing footage provided by the Union Gospel Mission facility to reconstruct the dynamics of the attack.
