The release will take place tomorrow to coincide with Easter: 246 prisoners are expected on each side, including 46 wounded soldiers

A new prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine is planned for tomorrow, Saturday 19 April, to coincide with the Orthodox Easter. According to Sky News, 246 prisoners on each side will be released thanks to the mediation of the United Arab Emirates, bringing the total number of prisoners exchanged with Abu Dhabi’s involvement to 3,233.

Among those released, 46 wounded soldiers will receive immediate medical attention. The exchange, according to the quoted source, is the result of ongoing diplomatic work that has facilitated the release of hundreds of detainees since the beginning of the conflict.

It is one of the largest exchanges in recent months, and represents a symbolic gesture at a time of particular religious and cultural significance for both nations.
