In Kansas, a maxi pileup caused by a dust storm raised by the tornado led to the death of eight people and involved 55 vehicles.
Mississippi also suffered severe damage, with six deaths confirmed by Governor Tate Reeves. More than 250,000 homes in at least seven states were left without power due to the storms.
