An explosion shook the city of Grenoble last night, when a hand grenade was thrown inside a bar in the Olympic Village area. The toll is twelve injured, two of them in serious condition.
The authorities are keeping the matter under wraps. Mayor Eric Piolle condemned the incident as âa criminal act of unprecedented violenceâ. Prosecutor François Touret-de-Courcy confirmed that âsomeone threw a bombâ into the premises, but ruled out, at least for the moment, the terrorist matrix. Investigations are ongoing to clarify the circumstances of the attack.
