Night of terror in Chicago: shots fired into crowd, 4 dead and 14 injured
Four people were killed and 14 injured in a shooting that took place around 11 p.m. in the central River North neighbourhood of Chicago. This was confirmed by the Chicago Police Department, as reported by the New York Times. According to initial reports, the shots were fired by at least one person in a moving car, who opened fire on the crowd.

The police responded quickly, but no arrests have been made yet. The investigation is ongoing and neither the motive nor the identity of the attackers is known at this time.

The victims and the injured
The four people killed were two young women and two men, aged 24 and 25. Fourteen people were injured: 11 women and three men, aged between 21 and 32. At least three women are in serious condition and have been admitted to city hospitals.

The incident has shaken the city, which is already grappling with a worrying increase in armed violence, especially during the summer months. Local authorities are asking anyone with useful information to contact the police.
