After days of tension, Elon Musk apologised to the US president for his attacks on social media. Trump appreciated the gesture

After last week’s heated public clash, US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk seem to have put their tensions behind them. According to the New York Times, Musk called the White House chief on Monday evening to express his regret for some criticism deemed excessive.

Sources close to the presidency report that the call took place after a confidential meeting on Friday between Musk, Vice President J.D. Vance and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, aimed at initiating a rapprochement with the president.

This morning, the owner of X, Tesla and SpaceX posted a message on social media acknowledging that some of his posts against Trump had “gone too far”.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said the president ‘appreciated’ Musk’s words, noting that no further consideration has been given, at least for now, to Trump’s suggestion of revoking certain federal contracts related to the tycoon’s companies.
