Netanyahu updates Eitan Mor’s parents. Al-Arabiya: Hamas in favour of expanding the number of hostages to be released

Israel is working on a new agreement with Hamas that could lead to the release of at least 10 hostages. This was announced by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a phone call to the parents of Eitan Mor, one of the hostages still held in Gaza, according to the Tikva Forum, an advocacy group founded by family members of prisoners, including Zvika Mor, Eitan’s father.

According to the Saudi channel Al-Arabiya, Hamas has expressed a favourable opinion of a new truce proposal that includes an expansion of the number of hostages to be released. The sources, who remained anonymous, claim that the text of the agreement is in the final stages.

Meanwhile, overnight, US air strikes near Yemen’s capital Sana’a left at least six people dead and 30 wounded, according to the Houthi rebel-controlled al-Masirah TV channel. Broadcast images show firefighters working to put out a fire caused by the raids. The US Central Command has not confirmed the operation.
