Aboard Air Force One, US President Donald Trump announced that he has ‘no intention’ of easing the duties imposed on steel and aluminium, reiterating that no exceptions will be made. The US leader explained to reporters that his government will continue with the hard line to counter what Washington considers unfair trade practices.
Trump also confirmed that reciprocal taxes will come into effect on 2 April. ‘2 April is a day of liberation for our country,’ he said. According to the President, the new measures will bring billions of dollars to the US economy: ‘The bulk of the money will come from 2 April.
