New strategic roles to strengthen US leadership in technology and Asian diplomacy

US President-elect Donald Trump has announced the appointment of David Sacks as the first ‘artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency czar’ in the White House. Sacks, a technology entrepreneur and member of the Council on Foreign Relations, will be Trump’s top advisor in these key areas, part of a strategy to position America as a global leader in two high-growth fields.

In addition, Trump appointed former Republican Senator from Georgia, David Perdue, as the next US Ambassador to China. Perdue, with long experience in Asia, will be instrumental in maintaining peace in the region and strengthening relations with Chinese leaders. Trump praised Perdue as a ‘loyal friend’ with a career focused on Asia, which will be crucial to the new administration’s strategy.
