Photo of Prince Andrew and Peter Mandelson with Jeffrey Epstein emerges

Image released in U.S. Justice Department documents shows the former prince and the former British ambassador seated with Epstein, according to reports

A photo of Prince Andrew and Peter Mandelson with Jeffrey Epstein has surfaced in documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice, showing the three men together for the first time in a single image.

The photograph depicts Prince Andrew and Peter Mandelson seated around a wooden table with Jeffrey Epstein. Both Andrew and Mandelson appear wearing bathrobes. Epstein, the U.S. financier later convicted of sex offenses, died in jail in 2019.

According to the BBC, the image represents the first known photograph showing the three men together. The documents do not specify the date or location where the photograph was taken.

ITV News reported that the photo of Prince Andrew and Peter Mandelson with Jeffrey Epstein was taken in Martha’s Vineyard in the United States and is believed to date from between 1999 and 2000. The image would therefore predate Epstein’s conviction, when he was sentenced to 13 months in prison and registered as a sex offender.

Mandelson has previously denied any wrongdoing in connection with his relationship with Epstein and has apologized to the financier’s victims. The former ambassador has also faced accusations of sharing confidential information with Epstein during his tenure as U.K. Secretary of State for Business between 2008 and 2010, when Gordon Brown was prime minister.

Prince Andrew lost his royal titles because of his ties to Epstein. The photo of Prince Andrew and Peter Mandelson with Jeffrey Epstein has renewed attention on those connections as the newly released documents continue to be examined.

Andrew was arrested at Sandringham House and released on February 19 pending investigations into alleged irregularities related to the exercise of his public duties.
