Pentagon authorizes military families to evacuate bases across the Middle East. Trump confirms movement due to regional “danger”

Growing fears of Israeli military action against Iran have prompted swift U.S. response in the region.
CBS News reports that Israeli officials have briefed their American counterparts about potential plans to launch a strike against Iran. The Biden administration—concerned about possible Iranian retaliation, particularly in Iraq—has begun relocating personnel as a precautionary measure.

The State Department issued orders for non-emergency government staff to leave Iraq, while the Pentagon has authorized military families to voluntarily evacuate U.S. bases throughout the Middle East, a defense official confirmed. These steps follow intelligence suggesting that U.S. assets in the region may be targeted if Israel proceeds with its operation.

Trump: “It could become dangerous very quickly”

Speaking from the Kennedy Center, President Donald Trump acknowledged the relocation of American personnel. “They’re being moved because it could become a dangerous place,” he said, underscoring the volatility of the situation. Although no official timeline for Israeli action has been released, the mobilization suggests a real possibility of near-term escalation.
