Macron and Starmer work to halt fighting over skies, seas and energy infrastructure

France and Britain have proposed a one-month truce in Ukraine focused on halting fighting in the skies, seas and energy infrastructure. The initiative was announced by French President Emmanuel Macron in an interview with Le Figaro.

Plan to Stop the Fighting

Prior to the summit in London, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed that Paris and London are working together on a plan to stop hostilities and protect strategic assets.

A Vast Front

Macron added that the conflict front, which is as vast as “the Paris-Budapest line,” makes targeted and measurable intervention necessary.
