Trump Denies WSJ Report on Long-Range Missiles to Ukraine

U.S. President refutes claims of authorizing Kiev to strike targets inside Russia

U.S. President Donald Trump has strongly denied a Wall Street Journal report claiming that his administration had approved the use of long-range missiles by Ukraine to strike targets inside Russia. On Truth, Trump called the report a FALSE NEWS, emphasizing that the United States “has nothing to do with those missiles, wherever they come from, or with what Ukraine does with them.”

According to the WSJ, citing U.S. officials, the Trump administration had lifted a key restriction on the use of missiles supplied by Western allies, allowing Kiev to intensify attacks within Russia. The newspaper also reported that Ukraine had used a Storm Shadow cruise missile supplied by the United Kingdom to hit a Russian facility in Bryansk producing explosives and rocket fuel.

The report added that authority for these attacks was allegedly transferred from Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to General Alexus Grynkewich, the top U.S. officer in Europe and NATO commander.

Meanwhile, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced to journalists that a substantial increase in sanctions against Russia would be announced either later today or tomorrow morning. Bessent also noted that Vladimir Putin was not “honest” in talks with Trump, stating the president’s disappointment with the negotiations.

With this clarification, Trump confirms that the United States has not authorized Ukraine to use missiles in Russia, while efforts to impose new economic sanctions on Moscow remain underway.
