Police seize bomb-making materials, suspect in court
A man has been arrested in Germany for planning a jihadist attack in Berlin. Police arrested a man in the Neukölln district on suspicion of planning a serious attack motivated by jihadist beliefs. During the arrest, tools and materials suitable for making a bomb were seized, a spokesman for the Berlin public prosecutor’s office said.

According to the public prosecutor’s office, the operation was carried out by a unit of the Special Operations Squad (Sek), which is normally heavily armed. The man, who was arrested yesterday, is expected to appear in court today. The spokesperson did not provide further details on the possible target of the attack, although the tabloid Bild indicates that the target was to be an area of Berlin.
