Sophie Chandauka, president of the charity Sentebale, accuses the Duke of Sussex of ‘large-scale harassment and bullying’, while a source close to the prince calls the allegation ‘unfounded’
New trouble for Prince Harry, who has been accused of ‘large-scale harassment and bullying’ by the president of the charity Sentebale, Sophie Chandauka, from which the Duke of Sussex had resigned on Tuesday. Chandauka made the allegations against the prince public, creating a wave of reaction.
However, a source close to the former Sentebale administrators was quick to deny the allegations, calling them ‘completely unfounded’ and claiming it was ‘a pure publicity stunt’. The source added that Prince Harry and those who resigned with him ‘expected’ such allegations, but remain steadfast in their decision to leave office ‘for the good of the charity’ and trust that the truth will soon be established.
Prince Harry has stepped down as patron of the charity Sentebale, which he founded in honour of his mother, Princess Diana. In a joint note with the co-founder, Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, the duke explained that the resignation was tendered ‘as a sign of support and solidarity’ with the board of directors, which resigned following disagreements with President Chandauka.
