After weeks of negotiations, Lebanon has a new executive with 24 ministers, led by PM Nawaf Salam

Lebanon finally has a new government, three weeks after the start of negotiations. President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam signed the decree today sanctioning the formation of the new executive. The government will consist of 24 members, a team that will be tasked with tackling the political and economic challenges facing the country.

According to a report by the Lebanese Presidency on X, President Aoun signed three key decrees: one accepting the resignation of the interim government led by Najib Mikati, another entrusting Prime Minister Nawaf Salam with the task of forming the new government, and finally, a decree sanctioning the composition of the government of 24 ministers. The signing marks an important turning point for Lebanon, which has gone through weeks of difficult negotiations to reach this new political phase.
