South Korean police arrested Kim Yong Hyun, former Defence Minister, on charges of treason. The announcement comes from the Yonhap news agency, which reports that Kim, 65, had resigned last Wednesday, shortly before his arrest, following his strong defence of the proclamation of martial law, a decision later revoked by President Yoon Suk Yeol.
At the same time, Interior Minister Lee Sang-min also resigned, admitting his responsibility in the chaos caused by the intention to proclaim martial law.
