The billionaire’s companies accuse them of an illegal agreement that limits competition
Austin, Texas – Elon Musk’s companies, xAI and X, have filed a federal lawsuit against Apple and OpenAI, claiming that the two giants have entered into an illegal partnership to strengthen their dominance in the artificial intelligence and smartphone markets.
The 61-page complaint filed in a Texas court accuses the companies of signing an exclusive agreement that makes ChatGPT the only generative chatbot integrated into the iPhone operating system. According to Musk, this decision excludes competitors, starting with his own Grok, developed by xAI.
The lawsuit opens a new front in the clash between Musk and his tech rivals, following months of public criticism by the Tesla and SpaceX founder of OpenAI’s strategies, which he accuses of betraying its original mission of “open and transparent AI”.
