Alan Dershowitz proposes immunity for Ghislaine Maxwell to reveal names in the Epstein network
Epstein and Trump’s former lawyer argues that Maxwell, sentenced to 20 years, should be granted immunity to cooperate with the justice system and shed light on her accomplices
Alan Dershowitz, a well-known lawyer who defended Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump, has expressed his position on the conviction of Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s accomplice sentenced to 20 years for child trafficking. According to Dershowitz, Maxwell is serving an excessive sentence compared to what Epstein would have received and should be released with full immunity to testify before Congress, revealing all the names involved in the abuse network.
Maxwell, the former partner of the financier who was convicted and died by suicide in 2019, is currently serving her sentence, but the lawyer argues that her cooperation could shed light on the controversial relationships linked to Epstein, given her long association with the man.
The case has returned to the spotlight after the Justice Department, under Trump’s leadership, stated that it did not have Epstein’s client list, fuelling accusations of a cover-up by the MAGA movement.
Dershowitz also commented on the handling of the court files, which are currently classified: “I know who they are, they do not include current officials, but we cannot know if the allegations are true”. Some rumours suggest that Maxwell may be linked to the leak of an alleged “obscene” note attributed to Trump, which the president has denied as false, announcing a $10 billion defamation lawsuit.
