The president hits back at the rocker after criticism from Manchester. Online also a taunting video
Donald Trump and Bruce Springsteen, new round. The 78-year-old US president has relaunched his attack on the 75-year-old rocker, publishing a vitriolic post on Truth Social. The occasion came after some of Springsteen’s criticisms of the US administration during his recent concert in Manchester.
Trump’s retort was not long in coming: ‘He’s a prune, a no-talent asshole,’ the president wrote in his direct and provocative style. Heavy words, which follow a long history of friction between the two.
But the confrontation also moved to the visual level. Trump shared a short video in which he compared his golf swing, fluid and composed, with the fall Springsteen suffered on stage during a performance in Amsterdam in 2023. An ironic and deliberately derisive choice, which fuels the tension between the political figure and the musical icon.
The Boss, who has always sided against Trump, had described the climate in the United States as ‘worrying’, accusing the leadership of ‘not representing the values we believe in’. A judgment that rekindled the president’s animosity towards one of his best-known critics in the entertainment world.
