Trump’s Gaza plan, Rubio: ‘No plan B for the Strip’

US Secretary of State confirms that Trump’s Gaza plan is the only way to bring stability to the region

‘There is no plan B for the Strip. Trump’s Gaza plan is the best and only possible one.’ With these words, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reiterated the White House’s position during his visit to the American base in Kiryat Gat. Washington, he explained, is building a stabilisation force that will include all countries willing to provide troops and resources.

Rubio stressed that the goal of the Trump Gaza plan is to ensure that the ceasefire is maintained and that humanitarian aid reaches the population ‘without looting,’ creating the conditions for the reconstruction of the Strip.

Rubio warns Israel: “Annexation of the West Bank would threaten Trump’s Gaza plan”

During the same visit, Rubio commented on the Knesset debate on the bill to annex parts of the West Bank: ‘Any annexation would jeopardise Trump’s Gaza plan, because many countries involved in the peace process would pull out.

He then called the vote ‘a political stunt’ aimed at embarrassing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Vice President JD Vance, who was visiting Israel.

Hamas: ‘First phase respected, dialogue needed for second phase’

Meanwhile, Hamas said it had completed the first phase of the ceasefire agreement under the Trump Gaza plan and was working on the second. The movement reiterated its commitment to ensuring ‘success and concrete implementation on the ground,’ urging mediators – Egypt, Qatar and Turkey – to put pressure on Israel to fulfil its obligations.

Hamas also said it wanted to launch a Palestinian national dialogue to define the future governance of the Strip and consolidate a stable political consensus.
