Serious injuries for one person, seven others with minor injuries
A Delta Airlines plane, arriving from Minneapolis, had a serious accident while landing at Pearson Airport in Toronto, Canada, on 17 February 2025. The plane overturned on the runway, USA Today reported. Police said one person was classified as ‘serious with non-life-threatening injuries’, while seven others suffered moderate to minor injuries.
Passenger testimonies and videos on social media
Immediately after the accident, videos shot by passengers appeared on social media, documenting the dramatic situation on board. In one of the clips a voice can be heard exclaiming: ‘The plane has turned over, we are all getting out’. The images show moments of confusion and fear, with passengers trying to leave the plane as quickly as possible.
Immediate intervention by emergency teams
In response to the incident, Toronto Pearson International Airport immediately activated its emergency teams. In a tweet, the Canadian airport confirmed the timely intervention and tracing of all passengers and crew members: ‘Toronto Pearson Airport is aware of a landing incident involving a Delta Airlines aircraft arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency teams have responded. All passengers and crew have been accounted for.’
