“I didn’t care what would happen because I’m not afraid of germs. I was snorting cocaine off toilet tank lids,” Kennedy said, referring to his past and decades spent recovering from alcohol and drug abuse.
He added that addiction remains a lifelong disease requiring constant treatment. “I know this disease will kill me if I don’t treat it. That’s why I went to meetings every day. For me, it was a matter of survival,” he said.
