Bruce Springsteen surprises Minneapolis fundraiser with “Arrest The President” message

Unannounced appearance at First Avenue during a benefit for slain activists Renee Good and Alex Pretti

Bruce Springsteen surprises Minneapolis fundraiser with an unexpected appearance at First Avenue, the historic music venue in downtown Minneapolis, during a fundraising event organized in memory of activists Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who were recently killed by ICE.

Speculation about a possible appearance by the singer had circulated earlier in the day, after Springsteen released his new song Streets of Minneapolis, inspired by the violent crackdown on protests in the city. The rumors were confirmed when the musician walked onto the stage to loud applause.

Throughout the set, Bruce Springsteen surprises Minneapolis fundraiser audiences not only musically but also politically. A clear message was displayed on his guitar, bearing the words “Arrest The President,” a direct protest slogan aimed at former President Donald Trump.

Springsteen delivered a tightly focused performance, playing several of his best-known songs. Among them was The Ghost of Tom Joad, performed with guitarist Tom Morello. One of the most intense moments of the night came with a stripped-down, acoustic version of Streets of Minneapolis, performed solo with guitar and voice.

The event was held to raise funds and awareness following the deaths of Good and Pretti. Bruce Springsteen surprises Minneapolis fundraiser by transforming the evening into a powerful statement, merging music, political dissent, and solidarity on a stage long associated with protest culture.
