Trump’s plan for Gaza: the six points of the ceasefire and hostage agreement

All the details of the document signed by Israel and Hamas to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip and free the hostages

Here are the six points of the first phase of Trump’s plan for Gaza. The document “Measures for the implementation of President Trump’s proposal for a total end to the war in Gaza” sets out the key points of the ceasefire and hostage exchange between Israel and Hamas. Here are the main points:

End of the war: President Trump announces the end of hostilities in the Gaza Strip and the commitment of both sides to implement the necessary measures to stop the conflict.

Immediate ceasefire: All Israeli military operations, including air and artillery bombardments, will be suspended immediately after government approval. For 72 hours, aerial surveillance will not affect areas from which troops will withdraw.

Entry of humanitarian aid: The agreement guarantees the full and immediate entry of aid and relief supplies, as also provided for in the agreement of January 19, 2025. The operational modalities are set out in the annexes to the document.

Withdrawal of Israeli forces: The IDF will withdraw from the 10 agreed lines within 24 hours of Israeli government approval and will not return to the areas if Hamas fully complies with the agreement.

Release of hostages: Within 72 hours of withdrawal:

  • Hamas will begin gathering information on the hostages and will share it with Israel through a mechanism supervised by the International Committee of the Red Cross.
  • All living hostages will be released, as will the remains of those who have died and are held in Gaza by Hamas or other Palestinian factions.
  • Israel will release an equivalent number of Palestinian prisoners according to the attached lists.
  • The exchange will take place without public ceremonies or media coverage.

International task force: A team composed of the United States, Qatar, Egypt, Turkey, and other agreed-upon countries will be established to supervise and coordinate the implementation of the agreement with both parties.

The agreement represents the first concrete phase of Trump’s plan, focusing on a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and the entry of humanitarian aid, ensuring international monitoring to ensure compliance with commitments.
