Trump stressed that Israel’s temporary halt to bombing offers an opportunity to complete the release of hostages. ‘Hamas must act quickly, otherwise everything will be cancelled,’ warned the American president, reiterating the need to proceed fairly and swiftly.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that he had coordinated a decisive diplomatic move with Trump. ‘We hope to announce the return of all our hostages during the Sukkot holiday, while keeping the IDF well positioned in the Gaza Strip,’ he said. Netanyahu also confirmed that the Israeli negotiating team led by Minister Ron Dermer had been sent to Cairo to finalise the technical details of the hostages’ release.
